Couldn't resist grabbing this perfect image from Kotaku's article reporting that the misinterpreted claims from Wired about Shigeru Miyamoto stepping down were slightly off. In my last post about Miyamoto stepping down from his head game design position, it turns out he didn't, it just seemed that way.
A Nintendo spokesperson has a stated few things denying these claims, "This is absolutely not true," "There seems to have been a misunderstanding.
He has said all along that he wants to train the younger generation." found on Reuters. A Nintendo spokesperson also told Bloomberg that Miyamoto is concentrating on training younger game developers as opposed to being in development.

Nintendo of America also denied the report from Wired, telling Kotaku the following:
"Video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto's role at Nintendo is not changing. He will continue to be a driving force in Nintendo's development efforts. In discussing his priorities at Nintendo in a media interview, Mr. Miyamoto explained how he is encouraging the younger developers at the company to take more initiative and responsibility for developing software. He attempted to convey his priorities moving forward, inclusive of overseeing all video game development and ensuring the quality of all products. Mr. Miyamoto also discussed his desire to pursue fresh ideas and experiences of the kind that sparked his initial interest in video games."
Although I will admit, Wired had more than enough reason to interpret what Miyamoto said the way they did. Quotes such as this from Miyamoto, "What I mean by retiring is retiring from my current position." is enough to convince anyone he's stepping down. It was more so just a matter of the wording.
