Flash Review: Home Sheep Home 2

Home Sheep Home 2 is the sequel to the first Home Sheep Home. They're both a physics puzzle platformer in which you aim three sheep in the right direction to beat various levels. The three sheep named Shirley, Shaun, and Timmy(biggest to smallest) embark on a journey once they leave their safe barn. They conquer various obstacles ranging from jumping car to car, scaling a clock tower, and roaming about London! Their goal is to beat each area and adventure back on home to their barn.

The gameplay consists encountering obstacles left and right to try and advance to the end of the level. To beat each level your goal is to get to the white arrow to the furthest right of the screen. It can be seen on a variety of objects, whether it be a car or a wall. You have to use the several features each sheep has to beat an obstacle, press a switch, or move a block. You may have to use Timmy to get through tight gaps, use Shaun to jump a far distance, or Shirley to push something or just well, break everything! Each sheep has their own advantages and disadvantages helping you beat level after level.

The game has a quick tutorial that definitely can be useful for those who aren't familiar with the game or just need a little bit of help. It features three levels that are easy and perfect for teaching you how the play the game. If you're not a tutorial type of guy like myself, then you'll jump right into the game and try to figure things out by improvising. I was familiar with the controls, but you definitely can manage on your own if you don't feel like running through the tutorial.

The replay value is debatable in my opinion. Depending on the gamer, you might just get through the levels and be done with the game. Although others may feel the need to gather all 27 achievements the game offers. Depending on if the game appears on other sites such as Newgrounds or Kongregate, it may feature badges or medals, which will definitely push the player to gather each achievement. Maybe someone just feels like challenging themselves and getting them all as well. Some might want to gather every sock and pair of pants as well. Otherwise, you might just beat all the levels and consider the game complete and move on.

Overall, the game can be relatively fun to flash gamers. The art and animations aren't too bad, you'll definitely see a nice background to each level if you take a moment to appreciate it. The game isn't too difficult for the average gamer and it might just make you think too. There's not a major story but it's not entirely needed in this case. It's a subtle story that basically points you in the right direction. The replay value is there, but not all gamers, so while you play it, it's worth it. But afterward, you might not pick it up again. In my personal experience, it was fun while it lasted and definitely a neat puzzler.

Overall 4
Gameplay 4
Story 4
Replay Value 4.5
