Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - VGA 2011 - Platinum Games

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was announced yesterday at the VGA's near the end with an action packed world premiere trailer. Konami revealed that Kojima Productions weren't actually handling the development of what was once Metal Gear Solid: Rising. Instead, Platinum Games is taking control of the game. You may of heard of Platinum Games from their known titles, Bayonetta and Vanquish. Shortly after the trailer, it was made known that the name of the game has also been tweaked and changed to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Konami has also revealed information that tells us the planned timeline for where Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance fits in. Originally, Metal Gear Solid: Rising was going to focus on the period before Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and concentrate on Raiden. Although with Platinum Games joining the project, now the story has completely changed to take place years after MGS 4. To apparently allow them to develop  their own unique story for it. Kojima Productions will still be overseeing the projects story and world while Platinum Games works on it to make sure things are consistent with the rest of the franchise.

"The main character, Raiden, was once feared as the child soldier "Jack the Ripper" on the front lines of the First Liberian Civil War. Now, his combat mastery is channeled through a cyborg body as the strikes from his high-frequency blade slice even massive assault drones in two." - Konami

More teasers are expected Tuesday on the Konami official site!
