Cube World Creator Joins Mojang!

Cube World creator, Wollay; Wolfram Von Funck joins up with Mojang as of recently. Notch tweeted moments ago that Wollay joined the team and sounds very happy to have him on board. Although he still makes sure it's clear that Cube World is still Funck's private game. Therefore, Mojang may help with marketing or publishing in the future I could imagine, but otherwise won't interfere.

"Yeeah, we just hired @wol_lay, the man making Cube World (http://t.co/s20rPvoo). Cube World unaffected, still his private game." - Markus 'Notch' Persson

If you haven't heard of Wollay or Cube World quite yet, definitely check out the latest trailer below featuring quests. Cube World is a voxel role playing game currently in development. It's an open world action rpg where the environment breaks by the actions you make or monsters make. Whether it be an ogre smashing the ground and leaving a crater or you just breaking up some land because you feel like it. In the latest update, Cube World is bringing randomly generated quests.

Currently only killing quests are shown, but he states future quests are to come that may be more interesting. In the video you'll see that you can come across a villager with a yellow block above their head, revealing they require help with a task, soon stating that some unique creature is in a certain area and needs to be destroyed. After completing a quest, you can return to the villager and gain your reward, currently only consisting of experience.

Shields are also a new piece of equipment added to the game. Shields will allow you to defend and block attacks. Along with blocking attacks you can parry an enemy with your weapon. Parrying allows you to stun your enemy for a few seconds giving you time to get those combos in. Although using your shield to block when defending is much more effective. Enemies can parry as well, when this happens all you can do is roll away and try to avoid getting hit until you can jump back.
