Into Space! Flash Review

Into Space! is a relatively fun game made by Barbarian Games. In the flash game Into Space! your're a scientist tasked with the goal of creating a rocket and launching it into space. There are a load of upgrades available, that can be bought from the money earned off each launch! How quick can you reach the moon?

The gameplay comes down to the simple goal of trying to make your rocket so successful it can reach the moon. The beginning of the game is very slow and can definitely make certain players look the other way.
When you start you'll barely reach higher than the building alongside your launch. Although if you're a fan of games where you consistently upgrade, then you'll more than likely enjoy this game. Slowly but surely you begin to gather revenue, reach grand heights, and be maneuvering around oddly placed planes. You might find yourself asking while there are planes flying above a rocket launch pad, I don't know.

In the later stages of the game, you'll have to focus on gathering fuel to last longer, grab money for upgrades, and aim for those accelerator gates! Otherwise, you may not make it. While it comes down to strong parts to reach the moon, a bit of skill helps. You can also gather achievements in the upgrade menu for bonuses to your flight.

Into Space! features controls through the mouse or the keyboard based on your preference. It also features quick instructions giving you the basic run down on whats what, although it's just as easy to play without them if you feel like jumping right into it.

Every flash game needs replay value, that's for sure! When it comes to the replay value of Into Space!, it lacks in once sense but excels in another. I beat the game and grabbed a few badges off of it on Kongregate, now will I come back and play it again? Probably not.

But when I think about it, I played Into Space! 43 times as I played through 43 days in the game. So it makes you wonder if there's an extreme amount of replay value in this, or not so much. Then besides all that, there's the achievements you can gather. In the time it takes you to win, chances are you'll already have most of them though. But if not, they may be the last thing to push you to keep playing. What do you guys think?

Overall, I'd have to say Into Space! was a fun, but slow game. Although, many games of this sort tend to be slow. Barbarian Games created a quick intro with a small story to get you into the flow, which is always appreciated. The gameplay was entertaining and not too difficult to understand. I will admit I had fun twisting and turning alongside planes or aiming for various bonuses, while at the same time doing it to the beat of a song. The replay value is questionable as I stated earlier, but considering my 43 in game days worth, I think it has replay value. Therefore, I'd say good job the game Barbarian Games!

Overall 8.5
Gameplay 8.0
Story 8.0
Replay Value 9.5
