EA, Nintendo, & Sony mostly stop backing SOPA

Do you want to see this on every page of the internet? I don't think so.

As of recently EA, Nintendo, and Sony Entertainment have decided to pull away from SOPA, quietly that is. In the current document listing all of those supporting SOPA, they've recently disappeared. Considering the after effect GoDaddy had from supporting SOPA, I'm sure these companies realized it's not a great stance either. If you don't remember, GoDaddy supported SOPA, customers got very mad, and basically started to boycott GoDaddy and still are.

Nintendo Denies Claims That Mario's Creator Is Retiring

Couldn't resist grabbing this perfect image from Kotaku's article reporting that the misinterpreted claims from Wired about Shigeru Miyamoto stepping down were slightly off. In my last post about Miyamoto stepping down from his head game design position, it turns out he didn't, it just seemed that way.
A Nintendo spokesperson has a stated few things denying these claims, "This is absolutely not true," "There seems to have been a misunderstanding.

Nintendo's Star Creator of Mario & Zelda Steps Down!

Update!
Nintendo denied the claims stated in the Wired report. It was more so a matter of misinterpreting what he meant. Read more here.

The guys over at Wired just got word that Shigeru Miyamoto the famed creator of Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda is stepping down from his position at Nintendo. Miyamoto just turned 59 in November and worked at Nintendo as the head of the game design department.

Before you jump to conclusions and think he's retiring for good, he has his reasons for retiring from his current position. Miyamoto stated to Wired, "What I really want to do is be in the forefront of game development once again myself."

Diablo Discovers a Town Portal?!?

You read it correctly, Dorkly brings a good point to our attention about town portals in the Diablo series. That's for sure. So here you are playing some Diablo of course, you're tunneling through dungeon after dungeon, and you're inventory is just full of loot. You've got everything you need equipped and well you don't want to drop it all. Because I mean you've got some pretty good loot you could sell. So you drop a town portal to head to well, of course town. Now you head through it, you sell your stuff, and well your safe... right? A demon walks down a hallway and sees this portal, hmm.. what could this be? They stumble into it and lets just say things get a little nasty.

While you're at it, you might as well put this crystal in your head, I mean why not?

Resident Evil: Revelations - Story Trailer

Capcom just dropped this trailer for Resident Evil: Revelations over on their blog. It's due for release on the 3DS February 7th, January 27th in Europe.

"Formally introduced in this trailer are: The FBC (Federal Bioterrorism Commission) and its leader, Morgan Lansdale; BSAA director Clive R. O'Brian; a mystery man named Raymond Vester, whose true allegiance is still unclear; and the city of Terragrigia, which was destroyed by a bioterrorist attack. We also get a bit more time with Jill, Chris, his new partner Jessica Sherawat (she's the one rocking the one-legged swimsuit) and beefy BSAA agent Parker Luciani, who is my personal favorite addition to the cast. You'll see why!" - Capcom blog
